Notes and recommendations

-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.

The C-XL4 is a professional extra-large tool made for potters who work with medium to large-scale pieces. I designed this tool with a long body that acts as a guide for your clay. Its great length allows you to smooth and shape the entire wall of a vase or tall cylinder in a single, steady move, avoiding the uneven marks that smaller tools often leave behind.

This tool is a master of fixing shapes and cleaning surfaces. Its double-sided design has a gentle curve on one edge and a stronger curve on the other, making it the perfect instrument for shaping both the inside and the outside of large bowls or jars. The C-XL4 works to remove extra wet clay and press the walls to make them stronger and very smooth.

Hand-crafted in my workshop from strong wood, the C-XL4 has two holes. These two points provide a superior, non-slip grip, allowing you to use both hands to apply steady pressure when working with a lot of clay. This ensures your shapes stay perfectly even from the bottom to the top.
