The pottery rib is a tool for shaping and molding clay and ceramic pieces, usually with a potter's wheel and lathe. It is also useful for flattening, smoothing and shaping parts of the piece such as edges, low areas, feet and walls. With MillerCrafts Tools you can perform these tasks with ease and precision.
The curved edges help you to curve the walls of the clay or ceramic pieces and thus form cups, pots, bowls, plates or any other piece you can think of. You can also create simple shapes such as coffee cups and more complex shapes such as jars and vases with curved silhouettes. The beveled edges help you to better remove material, make cuts and scrape with greater ease and precision.
MC Tools tools are designed and manufactured to facilitate the work of potters in their daily work molding clay but are also suitable for beginners who wish to have a better mastery of their work and greater ease to create more interesting and surprising ceramic and clay pieces.
These tools are specially designed and manufactured with excellent quality wood, made with laser cut, finally sanded and molded by hand.
The tool is initially protected with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax, although occasional maintenance with natural products and very fine grit sandpaper is recommended.

Notes and recommendations:
-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 200+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 200+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
