-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.

The C-XL8 is a specialized shaping tool designed for potters who value architectural precision and clean, straight shapes. I made this tool to be the perfect middle size, offering a long straight edge that acts as a reliable guide for squaring off walls, defining flat bases, or creating sharp, modern transitions on cylinders and bowls.
Hand-crafted in my workshop from premium wood, the C-XL8 features a grip hole in the lower section. This placement is intentional: it allows your hand to stay close to the wheel, providing great stability and a low center of gravity when fixing the most important part of your piece—the base. The hand-finished edge presses the clay as it moves, leaving a surface so smooth it reduces the need for extra trimming later.
