Command your large-scale forms with ease: meet the C-XL9. When you move from standard pots to large platters and big bowls, your tools need to grow with your work. I designed the C-XL9 as a special "Crescent" tool, featuring a wide, sweeping curve that allows you to keep a perfectly smooth shape across wide surfaces. Its half-moon shape is made to provide one continuous curve, avoiding the marks that smaller tools often leave on large clay walls.
Hand-crafted in my workshop from high-quality dark wood, the C-XL9 feels strong and steady in your hand. The two-hole grip system is placed to give you the best control and comfort, allowing you to apply even pressure whether you are opening a large platter or fixing the inside curve of a deep basin. This is more than just a tool; it is a stability instrument that helps you handle the weight of heavy clay.
Why is the C-XL9 so useful?
Wide crescent shape A large natural curve designed to shape wide bowls and flat plates with a single, smooth motion.
Two-hole grip system Features two finger holes for a secure grip in different positions, which helps your hand stay relaxed on large projects.
Artisan surface contact I personally hand-sand the edges to ensure the tool moves over the clay to press and fix the surface without dragging.
Ready for the studio Made from strong, water-resistant wood that keeps its precise shape even when working with lots of clay and pressure.
Simple for big projects It makes shaping large pieces much easier and more consistent, giving you professional results on a bigger scale.
