Notes and recommendations
Notes and recommendations
-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
Define your silhouette with intent: meet the C4. Some shapes require more than just a simple curve; they need a tool that can handle sharp changes and long, steady lines. I designed the C4 to be a versatile hybrid in your kit. Its shape features a long, straight edge for fixing vertical walls, which flows into a tight, specific curve. This makes it the perfect tool for creating "S" shapes or defining the sharp spot where a bowl meets its base.
Hand-crafted in my workshop from premium wood, the C4 is built for potters who appreciate a firm feel. The two finger holes are spaced to allow for different hand positions, giving you the strength to press thick clay or the soft touch needed for final smoothing. Every edge is hand-sanded to ensure it glides over the clay surface, fixing the shape without leaving a single mark.
Why is the C4 so useful?
Hybrid shape Combines a straight edge with a specific curve for many different ways of shaping.
Two-hole grip Features two finger holes for maximum stability when you need to press hard on the clay.
Artisan beveled edges Hand-finished to a perfect angle that ensures a smooth move and removes surface marks.
Ready for the studio Made from select wood that works well with water, designed to keep its sharp edges for years of use.
Simple and effective It is great at cleaning up the bottom of your pots quickly and easily, saving you time in your work.
