Maintenance Recommendations
Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and let air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When you use the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the basin water to clean it but then leave it outside, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or some other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use very fine 240 sandpaper and special natural ointments or oils for wood, allowing the product to dry 24 hours before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine 240 sandpaper and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the correct operation of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
SAFETY WARNING
Handle with care: Some tools have pointed ends. While they are not sharpened, they can cause skin injury if used or handled improperly.
Professional use: Keep out of reach of children. Use only for pottery purposes.
The ultimate curve for your creative flow: meet the C1. Every studio needs a reliable tool with a natural curve, and I designed the C1 to be the most comfortable version you will ever hold. This tool is a master of smooth shapes, featuring a continuous curve that is perfect for opening up bowls, fixing the middle of a vase, or creating soft shoulders. Its balanced shape makes it an easy extension of your hand, allowing you to move clay with total control.
Hand-crafted in my workshop from high-quality wood, the C1 is designed for comfort during long sessions. The two finger holes provide different points of contact so you can change the pressure instantly as the clay rises. Whether you are erasing finger marks or pressing the walls to make them stronger, the C1 moves easily, leaving behind a professional and smooth finish.
Why is the C1 so useful?
Natural kidney shape A classic shape refined for modern potters, ideal for creating and smoothing complex curves.
Dynamic surface contact Perfect for both shaping the inside of bowls and fixing the outside of medium-sized pots.
Enhanced grip security Features two finger holes that offer great control and prevent the tool from slipping when your hands are wet.
Artisan wood finish I personally hand-sand and treat every C1 to ensure it works well with water and keeps its perfect edge for years.
Simple and intuitive It feels so natural in the hand that it makes the shaping process feel like an easy, fluid movement.
