Maintenance Recommendations
Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and let air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When you use the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the basin water to clean it but then leave it outside, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or some other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use very fine 240 sandpaper and special natural ointments or oils for wood, allowing the product to dry 24 hours before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine 240 sandpaper and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the correct operation of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
SAFETY WARNING
Handle with care: Some tools have pointed ends. While they are not sharpened, they can cause skin injury if used or handled improperly.
Professional use: Keep out of reach of children. Use only for pottery purposes.
Ready to ride the wave? Meet the D-P7. If you are bored of flat surfaces and straight lines, this tool is here to change that. I designed this tool for potters who want something different. It has a special wavy shape that turns a simple pot into a flowing masterpiece with just one steady move. It is like a "sculpture-maker" that fits in the palm of your hand.
I spend hours in my workshop making sure these waves are perfect so they move smoothly without catching the clay. It is great for making chunky, natural-looking vases that look like they were shaped by water. Just hold the D-P7 against the clay and watch your piece come to life with a professional texture that is very hard to do by hand.
Why is the D-P7 so useful?
Instant style: It creates beautiful and even waves that add a lot of character to any piece.
Total flow: It helps you shape the whole pot, from a wide bottom to a narrow and graceful neck.
Artisan heart: I hand-sand every tool myself. It is not a plastic factory tool; it is a wooden tool made by a potter for potters.
Ready for the studio: Made from high-quality wood and finished to handle the daily work with water and clay.
Fun and easy: It makes it very simple to add exciting textures to your mugs, vases, and bowls.
