Notes and recommendations

-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.

Conquer verticality with absolute stability. Meet the C-XL6.

The C-XL6 is the definitive professional tool for those who push the limits of height on the wheel. I engineered this monumental rib with an elongated, slender profile that serves as a rigid external guide, allowing you to stabilize tall cylinders and massive vessels with a single, continuous vertical pull. Its unique height eliminates the need for multiple passes with smaller tools, ensuring a seamless wall surface and a perfectly straight axis.

Hand-crafted in my workshop from premium, high-density timber, the C-XL6 features a strategic top-mounted anchor hole. This ergonomic design allows you to exert controlled, downward-leaning pressure exactly where it’s needed most—at the top of a tall piece—providing superior leverage that smaller ribs simply cannot offer. The artisan finish is hand-sanded to perfection, allowing the tool to glide over wet clay without resistance, compressing the structure for maximum kiln survival.

Why the C-XL6 is a large-scale master:

  • Elite Vertical Support: Specifically designed to maintain the structural integrity of tall forms, preventing wobbling and wall fatigue during high-speed rotation.
  • High-Leverage Pivot: The top-grip hole acts as a secure anchor for your finger, giving you technical command over the rib's angle and pressure at heights up to 40cm and beyond.
  • Wall Compression & Strength: Effectively aligns clay particles across a wide surface area, significantly reducing the risk of S-cracks and structural failure in monumental pieces.
  • Artisan Hardwood Build: Crafted from water-resistant, durable timber that remains warp-free and maintains its precise edge through years of intensive studio production.

Warning: The C-XL6 is more than a rib—it’s an extension of your arm. Once you experience its stability on a tall piece, your studio standards will never be the same.
