Notes and recommendations

Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use fine sandpaper 240 and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can sand the surface with fine sandpaper 240+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.

The VE3 is a technical shaping tool designed as the straight-edged partner to my curved tools. I made this tool specifically for potters who work with cups, cylinders, and pots that need sharp shapes and perfectly flat surfaces. Its straight sides allow you to keep the outside of a piece perfectly vertical while cleaning the inside floor and walls with great accuracy.

This tool is a master of fixing shapes and cleaning surfaces. The sharp top point is specifically designed to reach into the tightest inside corners of a pot's base, ensuring no extra wet clay is left behind and that every join is clearly defined. It acts as an important instrument for leveling walls and pressing the clay, which is vital for preventing the piece from changing shape during drying.

Hand-crafted in my workshop from strong wood, the VE3 features a center hole. This point ensures a secure, non-slip grip, providing the balanced strength needed to keep perfectly steady pressure against the spinning clay for a professional finish.
