Maintenance Recommendations
Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and let air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When you use the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the basin water to clean it but then leave it outside, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or some other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use very fine 240 sandpaper and special natural ointments or oils for wood, allowing the product to dry 24 hours before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine 240 sandpaper and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the correct operation of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
SAFETY WARNING
Handle with care: Some tools have pointed ends. While they are not sharpened, they can cause skin injury if used or handled improperly.
Professional use: Keep out of reach of children. Use only for pottery purposes.
Elevate your forms with the simple elegance of the R2. If you have ever wondered how pros get that perfect base that makes a mug look like it is floating, this tool is your answer. I designed the R2 for those who love clean, sharp lines. It is the perfect tool for making a professional "foot" and moving into a smooth, straight wall in one easy motion.
In my workshop, I pay special attention to the edge of every R2. It is made to give you precision but also to glide through the clay without any trouble. This tool brings balance to your work, whether you are making a set of matching bowls or a large, modern plant pot.
Why is the R2 so useful?
Clean base shape: It easily creates that sharp, angled cut at the bottom that gives your pottery a high-end look.
Straight walls: The long, straight edge helps you make perfectly vertical or cone-shaped walls every time.
Hand-finished excellence: I personally sand and treat every tool in my workshop. It is made with the same care you put into your clay.
Ready for the studio: Made from high-quality wood that works great with water and the daily movement of the wheel.
Professional finish: It helps your pieces look sharp and intentional, making your handmade work stand out.
