Notes and recommendations
Notes and recommendations
-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
Give your pots that "crisp" architectural look with the V12.
Let’s face it: getting that perfectly sharp angle at the base of a mug without accidentally gouging the clay is a skill that can take years to master. Or, you can just use the V12. I designed this rib for potters who love clean, modern lines and want their pieces to have a deliberate, professional finish right off the wheel.
I spend quite a bit of time in my workshop making sure the corner of every V12 is exactly where it needs to be. It acts like a precision guide, helping you define the foot of your piece and transition into a smooth wall in one clean motion. It’s the difference between a pot that looks "homemade" and one that looks "artisan-crafted."
Why you're going to love it:
- Sharp Base Definition: Specifically carved to create that coveted angled undercut at the bottom of your pots.
- Modern Profiles: Ideal for conical shapes, straight-walled mugs, and contemporary planters.
- Pure Artisan Soul: Each one is hand-sanded by me until it feels like a smooth pebble in your hand. No factory-grade rough edges here.
- Built for the Slurry: Made from high-quality wood that loves the wheel as much as you do. It won’t warp or splinter after a long throwing session.
Warning: Once you start getting these clean angles, you might find yourself obsessively redesigning every cup in your cupboard. Don't say I didn't warn you!
