Maintenance Recommendations
Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and let air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When you use the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the basin water to clean it but then leave it outside, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or some other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use very fine 240 sandpaper and special natural ointments or oils for wood, allowing the product to dry 24 hours before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine 240 sandpaper and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the correct operation of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
SAFETY WARNING
Handle with care: Some tools have pointed ends. While they are not sharpened, they can cause skin injury if used or handled improperly.
Professional use: Keep out of reach of children. Use only for pottery purposes.
The secret to the perfect cylinder is finally here with the V4. We all know how hard it is to fix a tiny wobble at the top of a mug or a base that looks a bit messy. I designed the V4 to be the stabilizer every potter needs. It has a long, straight edge for smoothing out walls and a clever little notch at the bottom. This lets you make a clean, professional foot while you finish the rest of the pot in one single, easy move.
I spend hours in my workshop hand-sanding the V4 to make sure the edge is perfectly straight. It is the tool I use when I want my work to have a clean and modern look. It takes away the guessing and gives your pots a level of polish that is very hard to get with just your fingers.
Why is the V4 so useful?
Straight walls: The long edge makes sure your tall mugs and jars are perfectly even from top to bottom.
Easy foot detail: The small notch at the bottom creates a clean and intentional line at the base of your pots.
Artisan touch: I personally finish every tool in my workshop. It is made of high-quality wood that feels warm and balanced in your hand.
Ready for the wheel: It is made to handle the water and clay of your daily work without losing its straight edge.
Simple precision: It helps you get professional results easily, making your handmade pieces look sharp and tidy.
