Notes and recommendations
-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
Perfect your silhouettes with the simple elegance of the V7. Sometimes, the best curves are the ones you almost don't see. I designed this tool for potters who want a soft and natural flow in their work. Its wide, gentle curve is perfect for smoothing the outside of a bowl or a vase, making sure the lines look balanced and professional.
In my workshop, I personally hand-sand the V7 to a very smooth finish. This allows the tool to glide over the clay, erasing finger marks and bumps without changing the shape of your piece. It is a tool that helps you move from "good" to "expert," making it a great companion for your daily work on the wheel.
Why is the V7 so useful?
Subtle shaping: It is ideal for creating gentle curves and refining large surfaces with precision.
Consistent flow: It helps you keep a smooth and even profile on many different medium-sized pots.
Artisan heart: I personally finish every tool by hand. It is a wooden tool made by a potter, designed to feel natural in your hand.
Ready for the studio: Made from high-quality wood and treated to work well with water and clay, keeping its edge for a long time.
Simple and satisfying: It makes the job of refining your pots very easy and pleasant to do.
