Maintenance Recommendations
Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, dry with a towel and let air dry.
Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
When you use the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the basin water to clean it but then leave it outside, do not leave it floating.
Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
Do not leave your very wet tools to dry lying on the table or on the plasterboard; it is important to dry them after washing them with the cloth and leave them hanging from the hole or standing upright on their base, but always let air circulate around them so that the wood can expel any remaining water naturally.
Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or some other special wood oil occasionally.
For occasional maintenance you can use very fine 240 sandpaper and special natural ointments or oils for wood, allowing the product to dry 24 hours before use.
If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine 240 sandpaper and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the correct operation of the tool.
The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.
SAFETY WARNING
Handle with care: Some tools have pointed ends. While they are not sharpened, they can cause skin injury if used or handled improperly.
Professional use: Keep out of reach of children. Use only for pottery purposes.
Give your ceramics a beautiful base to stand on with the VE2. Getting a balanced and "lifted" look on a bowl or a mug can be tricky. I designed the VE2 to help you make a solid and clean foot that looks elegant. Its special shape works like a template, allowing you to create a professional base while keeping the walls of your piece smooth and straight.
I spend my time in the workshop hand-sanding the VE2 to make sure the bottom edge is perfectly flat. This allows you to tuck it right under the clay to create that clean finish that makes a piece look complete. It is a tool that brings a modern and professional look to your work on the wheel.
Why is the VE2 so useful?
The perfect foot: It is specifically designed to create clean, sharp bases and elegant shapes at the bottom of your pots.
Modern shapes: It is great for making flared bowls and mugs with a sophisticated and lifted look.
Pure artisan heart: I personally hand-finish every tool. It is a wooden tool that feels balanced and warm in your hand.
Ready for the wheel: It is made from high-quality wood and treated to handle all the water and clay of your work sessions.
Professional results: It helps you get clean and tidy bases easily, making every piece you make look like it was designed by an expert.
