Notes and recommendations

-Wash by hand with water removing all clay or mud, towel dry and leave to air dry.
-Do not leave your tools submerged in water or soaked.
-When using the tool on the lathe, you can submerge it in the water in the basin to clean it but then leave it out, do not leave it floating.
-Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
-Apply mineral oil and beeswax ointment or other special wood oil occasionally.
-For occasional maintenance you can use very fine sandpaper 320+ and ointments or special natural oils for wood, let the product dry 24h before use.
-If at any time you notice that the wood is rougher than you like after the first use or at later times, you can gently sand the surface with fine sandpaper 320+ and reapply protection for a smoother finish to the touch. This aspect does not affect the proper functioning of the tool.
-The final product may have slight variations in color and wood grain due to the use of a natural raw material.

Give your ceramics a leg to stand on. Meet the VE2.

Achieving that perfectly balanced, "lifted" look on a bowl or mug can be tricky. You want a foot that is solid and clean, but that doesn't feel clunky. I designed the VE2 specifically to solve this. Its unique trapezoidal shape acts as a precision template, allowing you to carve out a beautiful pedestal foot while maintaining a smooth, straight profile on the body of your piece.

I spend my time in the workshop hand-sanding the VE2 to ensure that the bottom edge is perfectly flat. This allows you to tuck it right under the clay to create that professional undercut that makes a piece look "finished." It’s a tool that brings architectural stability and modern elegance to your wheel work, making every piece look like it was designed by a pro.

Why the VE2 is a must-have for your studio:

  • The Perfect Foot: Specifically designed to create clean, sharp pedestal bases and elegant undercuts.
  • Modern Geometry: Ideal for creating flared bowls, conical mugs, and planters with a sophisticated, lifted silhouette.
  • Pure Artisan Heart: I personally hand-finish every VE2. It’s a wooden tool that feels balanced and warm, designed to be an extension of your own hand.
  • Wheel-Ready Durability: Crafted from high-quality timber and treated to handle all the water and slurry your sessions require without losing its edge.

Warning: Once you see how clean your bases look with the VE2, you might start adding pedestals to everything—including your morning coffee cup. Your kitchen cabinets are about to get a lot more elegant!
